I bought this novel after reading some of this authors other books without knowing what this was about at all. So I got home and started reading it and the first line made me laugh. Burn this book burn this damn book the line says. My first thought is what the hell did I get into. I read the rest of the book and what I have to say is that the book is very strange. The plot is that a demon named jakobok botch got stuck in this book and he wants us to burn it but he will tell us his life story only if we promise to burn it. The whole story revolves around his whole life from when he was a citizen of hell being the son of a demon policeman who is alcoholic and then jakobok killing his dad before getting brought up to the human world where immediately a priest wants him boiled to death. The story gets even more nuts til it reaches a strange finale. For clive Barker fans i highly suggest the book but it can be confusing at times.
