This is actually the first dean koontz book I have ever read and it is my favorite so far. The plot revolves around a guy who is a vietnamese man who got into a argument with his mom so he decides not to go to his mother's home supper and he goes home instead. All is find except he finds a weird old rundown doll that he decides to bring inside and he goes to sleep. He then wakes up to the dolls stitches popping open including ones that make its heart and his computer has a message saying the deadline is dawn tick tock. The doll is revealed to be a monster and he has to survive with a woman and her dog until dawn. This book is considered dean koontzs ultimate comedy.
